Wanting to get back into sewing for quite awhile, I searched the internet for a fairly simple project and stumbled upon this little "clutch" tutorial. Aren't they adorable?
It took me seriously an hour to measure and cut the material because I was WAY too particular but I got as far as sewing the strip across the front. The rest should be pretty easy. I need to get pictures of my actual project and post on here but I got excited about posting something else on my new blog so.... be excited for me :D

My 1st Tri Adventure!
So... around March or Aprilish my roomie Cammie mentioned she was going to do a triathlon. I actually didn't really know what kind of race that was other than it sounded exhausting and it involved...running?? :D I thought about it for around 10 seconds and I decided, "I wanna do that with you!" After that, it took me around two months to start training, ha ha, but once I started it was really fun and I started looking forward to either running/swimming/biking everyday.
When we got to the "velvety" beaches of Sarasota I couldn't wait to see how this triathlon would be the following day. It turned out that we almost got kicked out of the race because we missed registration not once, but twice. :) Also, my bike tire was flat, and I had about zero minutes to fill it up. Despite this, a very gracious woman named Mercedes got us into the race in the nick of time, and an extremely nice man filled my bike tire up for me while I was frantically filling out insurance forms that were required to even race.
It ended up that all went well, and I raced a pretty good beginners time of 1:31. My roommates did excellent as well, both hitting the time mark that they wanted. It was a great experience and I plan on doing more of these triathlons in the future but only on one condition that I promised myself. I have to be there AT LEAST an hour early for registration....the night before the actual race. :D
